A Warm Welcome

Approach

Our goal was to infuse the foyer with color, charm, and movement while celebrating the home’s existing architectural details. The client already had a piano and bureau in the space, which we gave new life with bold coats of pink and yellow paint. We enhanced the millwork by painting it in two shades of green and carried that same playfulness to the ceiling with new trim details and a coordinating pink striped wallcovering. The stripe continued seamlessly into the stairwell and piano alcove to unify the spaces.

To elevate the design further, we added gold touches to the balusters, replaced the chandelier with a gilded fixture that better suited the scale of the room, and introduced a lively patterned wallcovering in select areas for impact without overwhelm. In higher-traffic zones, a soft cream vinyl wallcovering with a subtle blush undertone provided both durability and warmth. Finishing touches included a custom rug cut in the shape of a flower and a new piano bench upholstered in a pink and red stripe with a charming skirt detail.

Delivery / Result

The transformation turned the once-muted foyer into a joyful reflection of the client’s personality. What was once dark and uninviting now greets guests with warmth, whimsy, and color in every direction. The client was thrilled, her entryway finally feels like her.
